Last week, Mrs. McCrum received a heartfelt letter from two Grade 6 students, which included a petition signed by 166 students. The letter clearly outlined their reasons for requesting a change to the date of the whole school Book Week dress-up day. The original date conflicted with the Grade 5/6 Hoop Time event, and the students felt strongly about wanting to participate in this important activity.
One particular reason stood out: “Since it is our last year of primary school, we really want to enjoy this special day with all our friends. We want to make great memories together before high school, and it would be sad if some of us had to miss out.” This sentiment is especially powerful, and Mrs. McCrum applauded the students for showing such initiative and using their voices to present thoughtful and compelling reasons for the date change.
We are excited to confirm that the whole school will now dress up together on Friday, 29th August—a day we look forward to celebrating with all our students!
