This year, Schools Tree Day is celebrated on Friday 29 July. To support Berwick Lodge Primary School, Brad Battin, the Member of Parliament for Gembrook, visited to plant seedlings in our school grounds. Brad met with students to chat about the relevance of Schools Tree Day and the importance of caring for the environment.
The seedlings were donated by the Helmeted Honeyeater Nursery and are insect, butterfly and bird attracting plants. The Helmeted Honeyeater is our school logo, a state emblem and a critically endangered species.
